Sprint Hurdler Mia McIntosh reaches first in Europe and second globally at her under 18 category after competing in Geneva, Switzerland
Sprint Hurdler Mia McIntosh flew over to the picturesque lake Geneva to contest in the ‘Meeting International D’Athletisme de Geneva World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze competition’. This meeting is a classic on the Senior calendar and is contested by many International Global athletes.
Mia was the joint youngest athlete to attend the competition. This didn’t phase the hurdle technician who competed at the senior 100m hurdle height with excellent poise. Mia took the lead straight out the block and set the pace that others couldn’t contest with. The main contention came from Scotlands Heather Paton running 13.77, however McIntosh could not be held storming to a new life time best of 13.45 into a negative wind of -0.8 well inside the GB World Junior team criteria.
Mia is now ranked first in Europe and second globally at her under 18 category. In the u20 global rankings Mia sits firmly in 9th. She also sits 9th in the UK senior rankings and 11th in all time British history at 100m hurdles for an under 20.
