For the first time since 2019, Oaklands College will play host to Hockey England’s Futures Cup tournament, welcoming hundreds of aspiring hockey stars.
The tournament, which was postponed last year due to the ongoing pandemic, welcomes players from up and down the country, who have been hand-selected to represent four squads.
Running across four days, the competition will culminate on Saturday 28 August with Mercia Lynx, Pennine Pumas, Saxon Tigers and Wessex Leopards competing to be crowned this year’s champions.
Having already seen ones of its students feature in the tournament in 2019, the Oaklands Wolves Hockey Academy will have another member join Welsh U18 star John Bennett on the exclusive squad list, as former academy alumni Tom Allen also prepares to compete.
